Missions

Through God’s grace and the generocity of others, the Paloma Foundation completed one local outreach and two international mission trips to the first sponsored community in Nicaragua, La Chureca, the largest city dump in Central America. La Chureca is inhabited by more than 1,000 poverty-stricken people. It was our intent to contact local families and assess the scope of our work and establish long – term relationships through a food – distribution ministry.

Within nine days, the Paloma Foundation raised $1,300 and went on the first mission trip to Nicaragua. The team used those funds to deliver and provide one month’s worth of basic food and grooming needs to 100 famlies in the community. The day of the aid delivery, we held an event in the community and fed 100 adults and 80 children as we celebrated each other and God’s works in our lives.

Five months later, the Paloma team returned to La Chureca to follow up on the progress of the children and begin to further identify young leaders that could be cultivated to work in God’s Kingdom in their community, nation, and beyond. With budget of $1,600, we provided another 100 food baskets to families to eat for one month. The day of the event provided lunch to 180 people, along with ice cream, piñatas and dental care items for 80 kids. To make the day extra special, Nicaraguan singer, Mario Sacaza, joined the team to bring entertainment and joy to the community during the party.
